Worthy

Why create a universe that could sustain life?
Why establish the firmament and separate day from night?
Why lay the foundation of the world and say, “Let there be light”?
Why distinguish the essence of Heaven from Earth?
Could it that the Father had something in mind of great worth?

Why show up in a fiery furnace?
Why speak from a burning bush?
Why part the Red Sea as Pharaoh’s army raced?
Why rejoin the waters to swallow the army and not leave a trace?
Could it be that the Father had something in mind of great worth?

Why send a great flood to cleanse the world from sin?
Why send out a dove to check to see if the land was dry again?
Why send the prophets to warn sinful men to repent?

Why allow for earthly harvests to be nurtured by the rain?
Could it be that the Father had something in mind of great worth?

Why take the word and wrap it in flesh?
Why tear the veil as if it were fragile as a mesh? Why make a way for a worthy vessel to be sacrificed?
Why offer up the son of man, the Messiah, the Christ?
Why pardon the sins of those whose hearts were so impure?
Why establish salvation and extend grace for sinners to be assured?
Why go to such great lengths to bridge the gap between God and men?
Why take the keys to Hell and grant the promise to live again?

Could it be that the Father had something in mind of great worth? That something was you and I from long before our birth.

He saw the worth in all of us even though we all deserved to die.

We are worthy because He saw our worth and wanted us to have eternal life.

I am an educator, a wife of 25 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!

  1. Thank you so much for this strong reminder. Love this. You have no idea how much I needed to hear this today. Our value just cannot be measured. This revelation needs to reflect in how we treat ourselves and each other. x

    1. Amen. I agree. I also believe that we cannot see the worth in others until we learn to see ourselves as He sees us. Then, we can reflect the same. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. Blessings❤
