A Dose of Grace

A dose of grace is all it takes to dry the tears on a grieving mother’s face.

A dose of grace is all it takes to bring a prodigal home,
To soothe a soul lying awake at night who feels it’s all alone.

A dose of grace is all it takes to make sin blinded eyes see,
To set those bond by the grip of their addictions free.

A dose of grace is all it takes to see our brothers as ourselves,
And even out the scales of justice to put an end to senseless deaths.

A dose of grace is all it takes to lend a helping hand,
To show the love of Jesus to every woman and man.

A dose of grace was all it took to hang Christ between a murderer and crook.

A dose of grace was all it took to tear the veil between us and the Father, So, we’d have a right to Tree of Life as His sons and daughters.

A dose of grace was all it took to reach down and pull us up,
That we might become His righteousness and be covered by His blood.

A dose of grace is all it takes for us to live and walk like Him,
For His glory to be revealed on earth and His light shall not be dimmed.

A dose of grace saved you and me and took the sting from death,
And ransomed the price He paid when from this earth He left.

Twas’ His grace and mercy that saved our souls,
Twas’ His grace and mercy that makes us whole.

Twas’ His grace and mercy that rescued thee,
Twas’ His grace and mercy that has set us free.

Oh, how sweet was the dose of grace we took,
That our names may one day be in the Lamb’s book.

I am an educator, a wife of 25 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!

  1. God gives such grace. Like the hymn:
    Wonderful Grace of Jesus, greater than all my sin;
    How shall my tongue describe it,
    Where shall its praise begin?
    Taking away my burden, setting my spirit free;
    O the Wonderful Grace of Jesus reaches me!
