Fighting for Us

The past two weeks, I’ve had to watch my children walk through a very familiar place. They have been in situations where they’ve had to choose their responses and choose their battles. Have you been there? I have many times. Each time, I’ve learned something new about myself and have had to decide whether to respond in anger or walk away. The truth is I’ve been on both sides. I am guilty of doing both. At times, I’ve chosen to operate in my anger as well as humble myself. Although both of them have been tough, I can admit that walking away has been the most rewarding. It has left me in a place of solace with my dignity intact. Also, I’ve been able to experience the delivering power of God and His great concern for His children.

The enemy would have us to believe that walking away is cowardice but I beg to differ. It takes more to restrain yourself than to act out in rage. He knows what we have to lose and the risk that comes with operating in our flesh. So, he uses his vices to distract us, catch us off guard, and trigger us to the point of irrationality. Therefore, we have to be spiritually aware at all times. Most importantly, we need to be able to decide if the battle is ours or the Lord’s.

Exodus 14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

In Exodus 14:13, “Moses tell the people to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord”. Today, my friends I echo this same declaration to you in the face of opposition. He is faithful to fight for and deliver us. What are the “Egyptians” in your life? If you allow God to move on your behalf, His word promises you shall NOT see them again.

Why? Because we have a Father who fights for us, constantly waging war against the powers of darkness. and deems us victorious in ALL things.

I am an educator, a wife of 23 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!

  1. Amen! Amen and Amen! I am also learning to choose my battles wisely. Somethings are not worth the fight – they have nothing to do with my purpose or my destiny. Love this on this Monday morning right here!💃💃
