Rest for Your R.E.S.E.T.

As I think about R.E.S.E.T…REST has been heavily on my mind.  I was exhausted at the beginning of the school year because I’m an educator. Preparing the classroom, professional developments, lesson planning, adjusting, and getting to know my students had me ready for at least one day off! LOL. I was looking forward to being off for Labor Day. As usual, my eyes popped open at the regular time of 6 a.m. This day was different though. I heard the Holy Spirit say REST in God (Hebrews 4) so you can see the REST of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). Immediately, I opened my bible to Hebrews 4 and meditated on it.

I’d like to play on the word IN…Rest IN God and the word OF…Rest OF God. IN: expressing the situation of something that is or appears to be enclosed or surrounded by something else. Friend, don’t you know that God is enclosed around you and your situation? Your situation is surrounded by Him…so rest IN Him. He’s got YOU!! Rest your mind and meditate on the fact that God is working on your behalf. When you believe, then you can rest IN what His word says about your situation. Hebrews 4:1-2…let’s look at the word OF:  expressing the relationship between a part and a whole. You’re the part….He’s the WHOLE. He’s got the whole thing!!  Friend, He knows the end from the beginning trust in Him, you can rest. The work is finished! Everything He promised is YES and AMEN. As you put your rest IN Him knowing that He will perform. You haven’t seen anything YET!  1 Corinthians 2:9-10.

I encourage you to REST IN God so you can see the REST OF God. It’s gonna be greater than you can imagine! Even though I was looking forward to sleeping in and resting my body that day…..I knew that I needed more than that. I needed to REST IN God!! Soon, you will see what He has promised.
