We are People of Purpose: Part I

When we born, God had a divine purpose for each of us. He had His protective covering on us from the beginning to ensure that His purpose for our lives would be fulfilled.

Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

He knows everything about us. He knows our capabilities, gifts, hearts, our thoughts, and even the number of hairs on our heads. Although he knows everything about us, he has given us the sole responsibility of seeking Him for direction and wisdom on how to fulfill His purpose for our lives. We often start our lives with our own ideas of how we are to live. We follow those plans only to find out that we have to come back to Him, Our Creator. The truth is that our plans mean nothing if they aren’t aligned with His design for our lives.

Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

We should seek God for His wisdom on how to live for Him, raise our children, how to do our jobs, spend our money, relationships, and even daily decisions. It is the act of submitting our lives completely to God that glorifies Him.

I am an educator, a wife of 24 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!
