We are People of Purpose: Part 2

Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.

Matthew 6:19-20 Lay not up yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through not steal;

We spend our lives busy trying to attain earthly treasures. However, both scriptural references point us back to what’s really important in life. The focus of this life should be matters of the kingdom (eternal) and not temporal things. When we understand that God created us for a reason, we live our lives differently. We learn that there is little time to waste on petty foolish issues and people. We come to value people, relationships, and not things. Eventually, we recognize that our trials are tools God is using to bring us into our divine identity; yes, we’ve been through alot but God allowed it to build our character.

We have to live our lives on purpose. We have to love our spouses and families on purpose. We have to forgive and strive to move forward with others on purpose. We have to choose to praise and worship God on purpose. We have to chose to be good examples to our children on purpose.

We should live everyday of our lives on purpose by being the people God has created us to be. Everything, we do should be Christ centered.

We are on God’s time and we have to do what He sent us here to do. So, there is no time for anything less than seeking and executing His will for our lives. Let us make a decision to live a purpose driven life and be people of purpose.

I am an educator, a wife of 24 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!
