Hope

There are seasons of heaviness,
There are seasons of grief,
Seasons so dark in which there seems no relief.

There are seasons of fear,
There are seasons of doubt,
When we feel like we are smothering, with no way out.

There are seasons of plenty,
There are seasons with no pull,
When we feel like our cups are overflowing past full.

There are seasons of brokenness,
There are times we want to shout,
When all we see are clouds and everything going down.

Yet, we can wake up in the morning and hear birds sing,
Like their hearts are filled with joy,
And expressions of beautiful melodies.

If we look a little higher,
We can see the sun shining bright,
And realize that after darkness, there is always light.

I am an educator, a wife of 24 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!

  1. There’s a lot of meat to chew on in this, much on which to meditate.
Light always comes after darkness for us who know the Lord. God will make a way, but it’s so hard to see when it’s so dark. God gives us hope, though, as you say; that’s what we hold tightly to, and when we let go, He stills hold us.
