Steward Well: Managing What Matters Most

Part 1: The Assignment Is Personal: What Has God Placed in Your Hands?

Some assignments don’t come with a title. They come with tears. They come with tugging in your spirit. They come with moments when God whispers, “This is your portion. Steward it well.”

Before God ever called us to build platforms, manage businesses, or launch something publicly, He gave us something personal to care for. Our time. Our minds. Our relationships. Our health. Our families. Our healing. These are sacred places where stewardship begins.

Too often, we associate stewardship with money and finances, and yes, that matters. But what about how we steward the unseen? What about the gifts that don’t make it into our bios, the talents we use only in private, or the ideas we’ve been sitting on for years?

God didn’t place those things in your hands by accident. Every detail, your journey, your story, your lessons, was placed in your care for a reason. But if we’re not careful, we can overlook the personal assignments because we’re so focused on the public ones.

I had to ask myself, “Am I being faithful over what I already have?” Not what I’m praying for. Not what I’m waiting on. But what’s already in my hands?

Because if I’m not stewarding the quiet parts of my life with integrity, how can I expect God to trust me with more?

Ask Yourself:

  1. What areas of your personal life have you been neglecting to steward with excellence?
  2. What gifts or callings have you allowed to sit dormant because of fear or distraction?
  3. What do you need to surrender today to become a better steward tomorrow?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for trusting me with the life, relationships, and resources I have. Help me to see them the way You do, not as random pieces, but as divine assignments. Teach me to be faithful in the small, to honor You behind closed doors, and to never underestimate what You’ve placed in my hands. May I become a vessel that multiplies what You’ve given, starting right here, right now. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Be Blessed,

Nia

I am a former educator, entrepreneur, wife, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!

  1. I’m led to think of Luke 16.10: He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.

You offer some good food for thought. God gifts us with all kinds of things, to test, prove, approve us; and to give Him glory.
