God Is Doing a New Thing. Will We Let Him?

The patterns that God uses to move are God’s holy rhythms.

God gives us the gift of release by inviting us into His presence, which creates a healing space where we can experience restoration, and from that place of restoration comes the birth of freedom.

And now we find ourselves at the threshold of a brand new thing, not just anything new…

Not merely a fashion statement or something that will be gone tomorrow.

This is a new thing because God has not abandoned His promises. God promised in Isaiah 43:18-19, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I create a new thing!” and those promises continue today.

Therefore we must remember that the seasons of our lives have purpose. The process of release that you went through, the process of healing that you sought after, and the process of freedom that you are currently walking in were not random acts of God.

The space you created for God was intentional by God.

Earlier in our reflections, we’ve discussed changes and transitions, including learning to let go of what has hindered us, processing hurtful experiences, and how to move on to a free, unrestricted lifestyle after the weight of hindrances is gone.

Freedom is more than just the absence of bondage;
it’s about the ability to be creative and fulfill your potential.

Having a renewed sense of trust and vision for the future are two important capacities. The same is true for obedience; obedience can be expressed without knowing every minute detail.

God clears out old clutter to make way for the new and if you are holding onto something old due to your fear or comfort level, you could miss the opportunity for something new He has for you.

Fear Does Not Discredit You Let us acknowledge that many times fear has a way of holding us back.

Fear of change.
Fear of the unknown.
Fear of an unfulfilled desire.
Fear of being vulnerable.

Fear does not indicate a lack of faith; fear indicates that you are human. Fear has never been intended to lead; rather, trust has always been intended to lead.

God is not reckless with His introduction of something new or different; God introduces changes into our lives as our Good Father.

A Good Father does not force His child into situations that could cause harm, nor does He let fear dictate the actions He takes on behalf of His children.

As a Good Father, God prepares, protects, and provides for His children.

A Good Father can also see things His child cannot as he acts as a teacher and encourager.

Trust is what God asks of us when He calls us to step out of our comfort zones.

If you hear God calling to you, chances are God knows you’re ready even when you don’t feel like you’re filled with courage and bravery.

Trust the Hand You’re Holding

Although the landscape of this new season may be different than what you had anticipated, you may not find it easy to see; it might require faith that feels hard to hold onto.
But the same God Who has been with you through the release…
The same God Who sat with you during your healing process…
The same God Who led you into your freedom…
The God Who is inviting you to step into the new.
He isn’t asking you to have faith in the process; He’s asking you to have faith in Him.

Be Gentle and Honest with Yourself

Could it be that what you’re afraid of now, is actually something you’ve been praying for, prior to all the discomfort?
Perhaps this something new is God’s answer to your prayer, and not His test?
Could it be that to be obedient this moment is simply saying “yes” before you feel prepared?
You might not be fearless, but you can be willing.

Prayer for the New

Father, thank You for giving us the courage to let go, the grace to heal, and the freedom You have provided us with. May You work in our lives and bring forth a new thing, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!
