He STILL Loves Us

Lately, I have been meditating on the unconditional love of God. Why? Because there have been times in my life when I didn’t necessarily feel the love of God, or I equated the lack of love I felt from man to that of God. If we aren’t careful, we can easily allow what we experience with man to cloud our view of who and how God is. That is one of the biggest mistakes we could ever make because God is not like man. He and His word are constant. God is unfailing. He loves us externally and without reservation.

The truth is we are the ones that are fallible and inconsistent. The truth is we are unstable in all our ways when our lives are void of God and His Spirit. When we look at our lives and don’t like what we see, we tend to blame everyone else instead of seeking the one who can restore us. Why do we do that? Because it takes alot to be honest with ourselves and admit our faults or failures. Additionally, it requires some work on our behalf and deep soul searching to become restored. However, we were not created to bear our burdens alone. God knows what we have done and will do. He knows what our weaknesses are. God knows our proclivities. He knows our secrets, the words we say, and the thoughts we think. God knows. Yet, He still loves us despite us. Is that an excuse for us to continue in sin or fail to do the work needed to become more like Him? No, it does not; but it does provide us an opportunity to be restored with His help and direction.

Romans 6: 1-2 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Due to the rejection of man and sometimes our shame, it is hard for us to accept that we have a Father who chooses and delights in loving us, His children, in all our imperfections. However, it is true. He wants to commune with us. He wants to walk through the darkness with us. He chooses to accept us as we are all while believing we will eventually walk in the purpose and identity He intended for us. Why? Because that’s what raw, unconditional, pure, eternal, and heavenly love does.

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Are you wondering if God still loves you even after all you’ve done and your poor decisions? YES. He does. He STILL loves you. He STILL loves us.

He ALWAYS will.

Romans 8:35-39 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am an educator, a wife of 24 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!
