You Are Still the One for the Work: God Still Has Need for You

Have you ever sat in silence, reflecting on your life and whispering to yourself, “Maybe I missed it… Maybe I messed up too badly this time…”? If you have, you’re not alone. I’ve been there. In fact, more times than I’d like to admit. Moments where I let fear speak louder than faith. Days when doubt screamed over destiny. Times when the shame of mistakes made me question if I had disqualified myself from God’s plan altogether.

But then God, in His gentle and loving way, reminded me of a powerful truth:

“You are still the one for the work. I still have need of you.”

Let that sink in for a minute.

We serve a God who is not intimidated by our missteps. His grace doesn’t expire when we get it wrong. His purpose for our lives isn’t revoked because we’ve fallen short. If anything, our shortcomings are often the backdrop that makes His glory shine even brighter through us.

Throughout Scripture, we see this truth lived out again and again. Moses was a murderer. David was an adulterer. Peter denied Jesus three times. And yet, God still used them mightily. Why? Because He looks at the heart. He sees beyond the broken moments and into the purpose He placed within us from the very beginning.

God’s call doesn’t change because we struggle. His gifts and callings are without repentance. He doesn’t take them back (Romans 11:29). The detours, delays, and disappointments don’t erase the fact that you were chosen. Created with intention. Handpicked for impact.

There is still work for you to do.

Not just on a big stage or in a boardroom, though it could be. But right where you are. In your home. At your job. Within your circle of influence. The people in your life aren’t there by accident. Your story, your scars, your victories and vulnerabilities; they are the very tools God uses to touch lives.

Whether it’s speaking life into a discouraged friend, leading with integrity in your business, or showing grace in your home, your obedience matters. Your influence matters. And your willingness to show up, even when you feel unworthy, is a powerful act of worship.

Let this be the moment you stop believing the lie that you’re too far gone or too broken to be used. God knew the end from the beginning when He called you. And guess what? He hasn’t changed His mind.

He’s still writing your story. And He’s inviting you to pick up the pen again, not in your own strength, but with His wisdom guiding your next chapter.

Prayer for the Journey Ahead:

Heavenly Father,
I come to You with a heart that’s been heavy with regret and self-doubt. I’ve questioned if I’m still useful to You, if my mistakes have disqualified me. But today, I choose to believe Your Word over my feelings.
I repent for every time I allowed shame, fear, or insecurity to keep me from moving forward in purpose. I surrender the weight of past mistakes and ask for Your forgiveness and restoration.

Give me wisdom, Lord. Show me how to continue the work You’ve started in me. Help me to walk boldly in both my personal and professional life, knowing that You’ve called me for such a time as this.
Remind me daily that I am still the one You’ve chosen, and that my story isn’t over.
Use me for Your glory, Father. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Don’t let the enemy convince you otherwise: You are still the one for the work.
God still has need for you.

FREE looks good on you.
