Bloom

What is a bird who can’t spread its wings and fly?
Or a man who lies down in defeat and just wants to die.

What becomes of an eagle that never gets to soar?
Or what about a lion in the jungle who is afraid to roar?

What sense does it make to be pregnant yet never give birth?
Or look down at fresh soil but never feel the earth.

Why even breath in if you can never exhale?
Or set your boat on the sea and never reach full sail.

What is a love that is given and not reciprocated?
After you’ve given your heart and all your life you’ve waited.

What good is a faith that never takes you beyond the veil?
Or sipping from a cup when you can have a never drying well.

What’s the point of having questions and you’re afraid to ask?
Or perfect church attendance and still at life’s end fail the class.

Why gain all the world has to offer and yet lose your soul?
Or never feel His Spirit’s fire because you’re content being cold.

To have life more abundantly, you have to make room.
To live a life of purpose, my love you have to bloom.

Bloom in your identity. Bloom in the Father’s plan.
Bloom into your destiny and not in the will of man.

Everything has a reason for being and as His child, so do you.
But you can never really bloom until you accept His truths.

I am an educator, a wife of 24 years, and mother of three beautiful children. I have taught the word of God to all ages and love to share it in creative ways. I've always had a passion for written expression. Over the years, I have documented my personal thoughts and prayers. Poems, devotionals, worship songs, and more have come from my life experiences. Now, I am ready to share them with the hope that lives and hearts will be changed as well as greatly blessed. I am flawed but striving for perfection in Christ. Although I have fallen short of the glory of God, I am forgiven. I am loved with an everlasting love. I am FREE!
